Have a Spooky Halloween!
I tried to draw this in the style of "Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark", which was a lot of fun to do, but it came out WAY creepier than I intended. :S

Weekend life drawing
Hey guys, I traded my traditional pencil and notepad for conte crayons and newsprint for this weekend's life drawing. My scanner isn't big enough to scan paper this size, but I photographed the pad so you could see some of the drawings I thought came out pretty well.
Classics of Crap Volume 46: Teen Witch
Hey bad movie fans! Welcome back to another totally rad to the max edition of Classics of Crap! If you are a certain age, you probably remember a movie called Teen Witch. They used to run it ad nauseam on basic cable in the early 90's. It was utterly horrible, but somehow I couldn't stop watching it. I was hypnotized by the awful acting and the most atrocious musical numbers I've ever seen. Watching it again just the other day I had a little more perspective on how unbelievably 80's it really was. It's pretty much mindless teen fluff about a girl who discovers that magic may be nice, but it's what's inside that counts. HA! Not really! In a surprising twist, the girl learns nothing, alienates her friends, kills(?) another student by making him disappear, and ultimately becomes super materialistic shallow brat by getting what she wants. Wow, thanks 80's. It's really the songs of Teen Witch that launch it into Classics of Crap glory. Please watch this musical number to "Top That" and try not punch your computer.

Evolution of Uma
Uma Thurman is a great actress, but when she is in a Quentin Tarantino movie, she kills it. Here are some of the highlights (and one lowlight) of her career.

Classics of Crap Volume 45: Riki-Oh
If you are a regular reader of my blog, then you know about my love of cheesy B-Movies. Well, this is the motherload right here. Riki-O, sometimes called The Story of Ricky is one of the goriest, most violent, jaw droppingly hilarious kung fu movies ever made. It's got gallons of fake blood, a crazed prison warden who keeps breath mints in his false eyeball, monsters, exploding heads, strangulation by intestines, and oh, SO much more. It's the crap movie gift that keeps on giving and giving. It is pretty gruesome, but it's so completely over the top, it's impossible to take seriously. YouTube search for 'Ricky Oh' to see for yourself just how bugnuts crazy this movie is. I saw this at a local midnight show at the New Beverly Cinema in LA, and the crowd reaction was unlike anything I'd ever seen before. They tore the roof off the place. If you've got a strong stomach, this flick is highly recommended.
This clip is SUPER CRAZY VIOLENT, but totally worth watching:

Life Drawings
Some life drawing sketches from a session at Art Center this weekend. I love doing figure drawing, especially when I don't feel like I need to duplicate reality, but when I can play around with proportions.
